Season featuring Twosix James
Working on this music video with CMD, a talented South Sudanese Australian hip-hop artist, was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the beginning, I knew this project was going to be special, but there was a particular challenge that I hadn’t anticipated: the creative struggle of bringing a vision to life.

Initially, I came on board as a songwriter, executive producer, and assistant director, working alongside Leo and a scriptwriter. We were all excited when we shot the first version of the music video—hiring a studio, bringing in models—but something didn’t sit right with me when we saw the final cut. While the team did great work, I felt the scenes were rushed and missed the deeper emotional connection I had hoped to convey.

The song was about the longing and romantic pursuit of love, and I wanted the visuals to reflect that—a visual journey of desire and vulnerability. But the first attempt didn’t capture the essence I was hoping for, and it left me restless. As someone deeply invested in the creative process, I couldn’t just let it go. The vision kept nagging at me, and I knew I had to make a change.

I approached Leo, the brilliant director, and CMD, the co- executive, and shared my concerns. I had a completely different vision in mind for the video—something that better aligned with the emotional tone of the song. It wasn’t easy, especially since we had already gone through a round of production and were over budget. But Leo and CMD were incredibly supportive. They understood where I was coming from and allowed me to take the reins and reboot the project. That support was everything.

Once I got the green light, I was able to bring my vision to life. I organized the models I wanted, arranged a location, and set everything in motion. The shoot itself was incredible. The energy was high, and it was a blast working with such a talented and passionate team. The entire day felt like a celebration of creativity, and you can see that in the final product.

The end result was everything I had imagined and more. It wasn’t just a music video—it was a manifestation of desire, a pursuit of love, and the joy of collaborating with amazing people who trusted me to tell that story.

This experience reminded me of the importance of persistence and staying true to the vision, even when things don’t go according to plan. In the end, we brought something beautiful into the world, and I couldn’t be prouder of the work we did together.
